Philip Elliot Herman, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
Philip was born on July 9, 1946 in Biloxi. He attended Forrest County Agricultural High School, Ocean Springs High School, the military academy, and also had some college education. Philip was employed by Litton Industries where he was a draftsman. He was also co-owner of Souvenir City. He enjoyed fishing, swimming and creatively built small airplanes and boats out of random stuff such as coat hangers and boxes, etc.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and June Lightner Herman; wife, Dianna Herman; son, Brandon Lee Herman; and sister, Jackie Greenwood.
He is survived by his son, David Aaron Herman; daughters, Shelley Ann Herman (Jose Ojeda) and Jamie Herman Byrd (Daniel Adams); nine grandchildren, Dominic Lee Herman, James Michael Byrd, Aron Levi Byrd, Brylen Alverado, Joseph Robinson (Kaylee Robinson), Jonathan Robinson (Leah Robinson), and Ruby-Diann Herman Kelly (David Kelly); great-grandchildren, Brady Robinson, Elijah Lee Kelly, and Alexander Lloyd Kelly; sister, Ina Clair Panken; 2 dogs, Leslie Ann and Snow; and four cats, Newman, Hilda, Sunny, and Raiden.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Southern Memorial Park in Biloxi, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Philip Elliot Herman.
