Phyllis Ladner Hay, 90, of Biloxi, MS, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 1, 2023, while surrounded by family and loved ones.
Phyllis was born on June 8, 1933, to Clarence Ladner and Vivian Fountain Ladner, both of D’Iberville, MS. She was a life-long resident of the MS Gulf Coast. Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and unwavering devotion to her family.
In 1951 Phyllis married Armond Gollott, Sr, and together, they had five sons: Brian, Arny Jr, Dale, Nicky and Ben.
Later in life she met and married Lt Col Jack Hay, of Birmingham, AL. When they weren’t spending time with family, they enjoyed their time together traveling the world, international cuisine and fine dining, or pulling on the arm of their favorite slot machine… and of course, all of this while proudly living out her colorful and spirited sense of style and fashion, and oversized sunglasses. Needless to say, they lived life to the fullest.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Jack Hay; her two sons, Arny (Tracy) Gollott Jr and Nicky (Susie) Gollott; her brother, Donald (Iris) Ladner; her sister, Beverly (Russell) Quave; and her parents.
She is survived by her three sons, Brian (Trudy) Gollott, Dale (Ha) Gollott and Ben (Kelly) Gollott; three step-children, Carol Hay, Jackie (Tommy) Rockett and Michael Hay; her 12 grandchildren Trulie (Tam) Gollott, Shawn Gollott, Arny (Jamie Rae) Gollott III, Todd (Jessica) Gollott, Dale (Vivyan) Gollott, Chris (Kalie) Gollott, Cody (Kaley) Gollott, Gabrielle (Connor) Gollott, Lakin Gollott, Lea Gollott, Zack (Lauren) Saucier and Zane Saucier; her 5 step-grandchildren, Cameron (Stephanie) Ray, Jennifer (Brad) Dobson, Jason Hay, Jacob Hay, Michelle Hay; her 16 great-grandchildren, Baylie, Shawn Miguel, Arny IV, Faith Rae, Norah Lynne, Jude, Clara Rose, Annabelle, Caroline, Payton, Caden, Kaleb, Grace, Brelynn, Cole and Clayton; and her many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Deacon Bill and Father Dominic of Sacred Heart, Father Godfrey of Nativity, and the staff at both, Deaconess Hospice of Biloxi and The Blake at Biloxi. She thoroughly enjoyed the visits and care you’ve provided in the recent years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services honoring Phyllis at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 10446 LeMoyne Blvd, in D’Iberville on Thursday, September 7, 2023 a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. A Celebration of Life immediately following at the D’Iberville Community Center, 10462 Lamey Bridge Road.
