Phyllis Jean Litke, 76, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
She spent many years taking care of children for working mothers. Phyllis spent 10 years or more in the Cub Scouting program helping to prepare boys for WEBLOS. She taught young children in Sunday School for more than 40 years. Phyllis allowed parents to enjoy the worship service while she supervised the church nursery. The children will greatly miss her. From the beginning, she was member of the executive committee of the Loaves and Fishes feed the hungry program until her health would no longer permit this.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Lucille Brown; and son, Scott.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jackie Junior Litke; sons, Curtis, Michael (Monica), and Paul; daughter, Sonia Hill (Chris); sister, Diana Hill, Readstown, WI, Betty Cabral (David), New Bedford, MA, and Arlene Gelardi, Madison, WI; brothers, Ronald and Donald Brown, Madison, WI; 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Endowment Fund or to the Loaves and Fishes program.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where friends may visit for an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
