On June 8, 2026, Raymond “Ray Ray” Breazeale peacefully went to join his loved ones in Heaven.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Horace Eugene Breazeale; his mother, Johnnie Ruth Breazeale; his daughter, Donna Lynn Pounders; and his great-granddaughter, Nora Hofer.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Lea) Breazeale of California and John Derrick Bilbo of Ocean Springs; his granddaughters, Tera (Dustin) Hofer, and Madeline Pounders; his great- grandsons, Hayes Hofer, all of Sumrall. He is also survived by his brothers, Phillip Breazeale and Rusty (Lisa) Breazeale; sisters, Linda Lidgard, Sharon (Ricky) Stanley, Patti (Wilburn) Kirkland, all of Ocean Springs, and Debbie Baker of Houston, Texas.
Ray was born at Keesler Air Force Base on November 4, 1947, the first child of Horace and Johnnie Breazeale. Six siblings would later join him; all of whom looked to him to help lead them through life’s many ups and downs.
He was a resident of Ocean Springs for more than forty years. He worked for Xerox for twenty years before retiring and opening his own TV repair shop. He later went on to work as a Biomedical Equipment Technician at the VA for twenty-five years.
Throughout his life, Ray was very active in the soccer community. He spent many hours watching and often coaching his son, Chris, as well as others. Ray also enjoyed playing the game himself and was a well-respected and much sought-after soccer referee. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
After retiring from the VA, Ray enjoyed traveling with a group of friends he had graduated high school with in Ankara, Turkey. He loved and spoiled his dog, Maggie. He also enjoyed reading science fiction, traveling, playing golf, and socializing with his buddies. Ray had a diverse palate, but his favorite dish was red beans and rice.
Ray will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but we know his mom greeted her “Good Boy” with open arms at Heaven’s gate.
A memorial service celebrating Ray's life will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs. Friends may visit two hours prior.
