Raymond Joseph Lanty, Jr.

Raymond Joseph Lanty Jr., 89, died Thursday, May 19, 2016. He was in the US Military, serving in both the Navy and the Air Force, from 1943 until his retirement in 1968. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying and sailing. He was actively involved in his grandchildren’s lives, actively supporting them in all they did. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Loretta Lanty; and his son-in-law, Jim O’Neal. Raymond is survived by his wife, Josephine Lanty; children, Raymond (Linda) Lanty III, Michael (Rosalie) Lanty, Vicki Ann O’Neal, and James Lanty; sister, Ruth Meaker; brothers, George Lanty and Charles Lanty; 7 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
