Reed Allen Marcum

Reed Allen Marcum, age 80, of Ocean Springs passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015. Reed and his family came to the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the first time in 1962 when he was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base. He subsequently returned for two additional assignments and retired from the Air Force while at Keesler in 1973. He was a loving husband and father who was devoted to his family. He enjoyed camping and fishing, but mostly spending time with his grandchildren sharing life stories. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Bessie Marcum; brother, Donnie Marcum; sister, Denise Marcum and great-grandson, Larry Griffin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Marcum; daughters, Catherine Louise Knight and her fiancé, Shannon Walker, and Mary-Catherine Allena Lewis and her husband, Jesse Lewis; sisters, Willa Dean Miller and Elizabeth Marcum; grandchildren, Christina Griffin, Rether Allen Griffin, Amber Griffin, and Justice Knight; and great-grandson, Caleb Griffin. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery
