Richard A Cowart Jr.

Richard A. Cowart, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on November 19, 2021 at the age of 60. He was born on May 5, 1961 in Picayune, MS. He served in the Army National Guard and worked for IP Casino Resort and Spa prior to his illness. He loved his job at the IP and all of his co-workers. Richard is preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Cowart, Sr., his son, Dustin Ashley Cowart; step-father, William E. Jenkins. Survivors include his children, Christopher Cowart (Macie) and Lauren Cowart Smith (Blake); step-son, Richard Coats; five grandchildren, Jacob Cowart, Lathan Cowart, Avery Cowart, Landon Smith and Rowan Smith; his mother, Ann Jenkins; step-mother, Nell Y. Cowart; sisters, Wanda Owen (David), Glenda Dresback (Kelly), Paula Joyner (Joey) and Suzann Whittington (BJ); step-sisters, Vicky Burge and Robin Killeen (Pat); and step-brothers, Bradley Shaw (Melinda) and Gregory Shaw (Lori). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road in Biloxi. Friends are invited to visit two hours prior.
