Richard E. Herrin age 71, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 2, 1945 in Saucier, MS where he lived his whole life.
Richard was an active member of Faithview Baptist Church in Saucier where he served and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a former Harrison County Code Director.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald R. Herrin and Myrtle Wedgeworth and his precious sister, Joan P. Gnau.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Barbara Simmons Herrin; his daughter, Cheryl (Ronald) Houghton and son, Todd (Karen) Herrin; grandchildren, Megan and Ashton Houghton, Courtney (Mark) Daigre, Joshua Herrin, all of Saucier and Josh’s fiance’, Haley Blue of Foxworth. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry Gnau, Debbie and Les Montgomery, Sandra Parker, Martha Daniels, Pete and Freda Simmons, Scott and Ruby Simmons, Brian and Cynthia Simmons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend special gratitude to the staff and nurses of Saad Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
The funeral service is Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 12 noon at Faithview Baptist Church in Saucier where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Finley Cemetery, Gulfport.
