Richard Lee Turner

Richard "Rick" Turner, 68, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Rick was born on May 10, 1958, in Ozark, Alabama, to Thomas Albert Turner and Virginia Verlon Windham Turner. To some of us he was Dad. To some, Big Brother. To some, Uncle Rick. To some, Papa Turner. To each of us, at one time or another, he was our hero. He was a man who brought great joy to those around him. He was a man who was greatly loved. He loved watching Braves baseball, Alabama football, fishing, sitting around a fire, playing the guitar, and singing. Rick was especially proud to carry on the Turner family name and legacy through his son and grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Thomas Turner and Virginia Turner.

Rick is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Brinkley (Rodney); his son, Jeffrey Turner (Rachel); his daughter, Ashley Turner; his grandchildren, Grant Turner, Carson Turner, and Jett Brinkley; his sisters, Rhonda Petersen (John), Rheida Sneeringer, and Shelli Spruill (Todd); and his nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. We take comfort knowing that in good times and in bad, he clung to his faith and always looked forward to the return of Jesus to rescue him and those he loved from the troubles of the world. He is now in the arms of his Heavenly Father and can see himself through His loving eyes. This faith he instilled in his children and grandchildren. A saving faith.
