Richard Ward Peters, age 78, passed away on July 6, 2026, suddenly in his Biloxi home. He had a typical morning walking his beloved dog, Henry, and did not suffer in his death.
Richard was born in 1947 in Peoria, Illinois. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Deborah Lynn Peters, his five children and their spouses Ryan Peters (Whitney), Dane Peters (Shellie), Eric Peters (Hannah), Miranda Larsen (Mark) and Sean Grubb (Tatum). His six grandchildren, Presley, Jayden, Averi, Everett, Eliza, and Merritt.
Richard was an extraordinary man that when you talked to him it seemed he had lived ten lifetimes. He was a pharmacist for over 50 years. This career took him to many places but the one that stands out is Biloxi Regional. This is where he met his wife Debbie during his 21 year tenure. The two of them have been best friends since 2004. Richard loved World War II, dragons, fast cars, college softball, reading of all kinds, dogs, walking the beach, a good movie or tv series and above all his family. He was so interesting, but at the same time interested in you. A wonderful listener with a big heart.
Per Richard’s wishes the family will be having a small private gathering to honor and remember him.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Richard Ward Peters.
