Richard Michael Tracey, son of Florence Hazel Mills Tracey and Claude William Tracey, was born in Montgomery, AL on November 14, 1948 and died in Pascagoula, MS on Saturday, July 2, 2016.
Being the son of a career Air Force veteran, he was able to travel the world, spending time in Europe and Germany. After graduating from Bay St. Louis High School, Richard joined the United States Marine Corps and continued his global travels visiting Japan and the Philippine Islands. After his discharge, Mr. Tracey returned to the small town comfort and charm of Waveland, where he made his home for several years before meeting Judith Carver. They married February 29, 2008, about 3 years after Hurricane Katrina, and made their home in Biloxi, MS.
He is preceded in death by his father, Claude; and his mother, “Ms. Hazel”.
Mr. Tracey’s survivors include his wife of 8 years, Judith Tracey; his siblings, Peggy (Gordon) Tod of Fremont, OH, Ronald (Karen) Tracey of Newnan, GA and Randall (Donna) Tracey of Lincolnton, NC; as well as aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mississippi Chapter, 1900 Dunbarton Dr., Suite H. Jackson, MS 39216.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 am.
