Ricky Arlon Broadus-Morgan, 67, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away quietly at his home on May 27, 2026.
Born April 15, 1959, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Ricky spent much of his childhood in North Georgia, where he was raised alongside his brother Harold and “bonus parents,” Irene and Ralph Morgan. After proudly serving in the United States Army, he returned home to the Gulf Coast, where he remained for the rest of his life.
Ricky dedicated many years to his career as a maintenance supervisor, earning respect for his strong work ethic and reliability. His true passion, however, was his own construction and remodeling business. With a keen eye for detail and a genuine love for building, he created lasting craftsmanship and built a loyal and lifelong customer base.
Outside of work, Ricky enjoyed traveling, participating in carnival events, and spending time with friends at gatherings throughout the Gulf Coast. Known to many as Rick or Ricky, he was remembered for his warm smile, playful humor, and his unmistakable three-syllable laugh.
He is survived by his three daughters: Mollie M. Schwartz (Kody) of Litchfield, Minnesota; Kristy L. Johnson (Jeff) of Chatsworth, Georgia; and Demisha D. Hicks of Dalton, Georgia. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren—Gunner and Winnie Schwartz; Hunter, Jason, and Spencer Perdue; Courtney Philips; and Conner Hicks—and two great-grandsons, Stryker and Miles. He is also survived by his sister, Tawnya Sprinkle (David); nephews Collin Laubmeier and D.J. Ledezma; and nieces Lily and Ivy Sprinkle and Diannah Ledezma Roell.
Ricky was preceded in death by his siblings Linda Fowler, Harold Morgan, and Jerry Douglas; his parents, Mary Lou Fore and Charles Broadus; and his beloved “Momma,” Irene Morgan.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 3, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road. Burial will follow at Broadus Family Cemetery in Saucier, MS.
The family extends a special thank you to his sister, Tawnya, for her loving care over the past year.
