Robert F. "Bob" Newell

Robert F. “Bob” Newell, 75, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Mr. Newell was born in Tarrytown, NY and had been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1979. He was a MSgt in the Air Force. He served during the Vietnam Conflict and retired after 24 years of service. Mr. Newell was employed with The Stag Shoppe in Ocean Springs and Hale’s Dept. Store in Moss Point for many years. In his later years, he worked with AAFES at Keesler AFB. Mr. Newell was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ethel Newell. Mr. Newell is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Newell; daughters, Julie A. (Daniel) Seitz, Tina (Jeff) Stephenson; brothers, Albert (Doris), Roger (Sharon) and Russell (Dianne) Newell; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Both will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi, MS. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
