Robert Frank Hickman, age 80, of Vancleave, MS, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at his home in Vancleave, MS.

Robert was born on October 22, 1945 in Riverside, California, to Merritt Leslie Hickman and Viola Agnes Douglas Hickman. He spent the earlier part of his life serving in the military, retiring in 1982 as a U.S. Naval Chief, GMTC, (Gunner’s Mate Technician Chief Petty Officer) after 20 years of service. His awards include Fourth Good Conduct, Humanitarian Service, National Defense, Vietnam Service, Sea Service and Marksmanship (Pistol). He then met his wife, Jenifer and they were married on January 27, 1984, and were happily married for forty two and a half years. Robert enjoyed fishing in the high lakes in Oregon and spending time with his family. He treasured his loyal and long-lasting friendships with Denis Sourisseau, with whom he served with in the U.S. Navy and James (Steve) Beckwith, his best friend from early grade school. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Richard Hickman, Walter Hickman and Paul Hickman.

Survivors include his wife, Jenifer Jill Calhoun Hickman, children, Candra Hickman, Robert B. Hickman, Angelle Hickman and Stephanie Gurch,  grandchildren, Colton Hickman and Gaby Hickman and siblings, Donald Hickman and Douglas Hickman.

Memorials can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the Autism Charity Fund.
