Robert Lloyd Moody, age 73, of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

Mr. Moody was born and raised in Kosciusko, Mississippi, but he resided on the Gulf Coast since the 1970's. He was a graduate of Kosciusko High School and the University of Southern Mississippi where he majored in voice with a minor in piano.

He was a premier Gulf Coast performer and entertainer and was one of the founders and first director of the beloved event, Sounds of the Holidays. He taught piano for many years and his students also became outstanding pianists. Mr. Moody directed and produced numerous musicals and shows with Center Stage Theater, Riviera Productions, and others. He played piano for fine dining restaurants at Casino Magic, The Grand Casino, and The Hard Rock, all in Biloxi. His talent and personality delighted all who heard him play.

Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his parents, William Lloyd Moody and Bettye Beauchamp Moody and his long-time partner, George Wentzell Quigley.

Survivors include his sister, Melinda Moody Jones; nephews, Evan Jones and Daniel (Megan) Jones; a great-nephew and two great-nieces.

There will be a tribute gathering for friends and family at Center Stage Theater in Biloxi on Saturday, December 17, from 2:00 – 4:00 in the afternoon. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Moody family.
