With heavy hearts, my sister and I announce the loss of our dad, Roger J. Cervantes on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
Roger is survived by two daughters, two granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, five nephews, and one niece. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his daughters, Mary Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Mary Gonzalez; dad, Braulio Cervantes; two brothers, Louie and Hueo; and one niece.
Roger served 26 years in the United States Air Force. He co-owned a lounge, where he received the nickname “Bear” from winning dart tournaments along the Gulf Coast. Roger was an avid baseball player, playing as both a fast and slow pitch pitcher. He also umpired for 17 years.
A memorial service will take place at 11:15 am on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit at 10 am. Interment will take place at 12:30 pm at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
