Roger Wayne Woodall, age 60, of Long Beach passed away on Tuesday June 7th, 2016 in Gulfport, MS. Wayne was born May 16th, 1956 in Gulfport, MS to Robert and Vanga Woodall who he has now joined in heaven.
Wayne graduated in 1978, with a degree in Accounting, from the University of Mississippi and later in 1981 from the Ole Miss Law school. Prior to opening his own law practice, Wayne worked as Legal Counsel for Pan Am. Wayne developed his hard work ethic at the Bayou View BP gas station while attending high school at Gulfport East.
While specializing in DUI defense, he also helped many others in different areas of the law. Wayne was a true advocate for his clients and he cared for each of them. He had a kind heart and deep desire to help others.
While Wayne held many accomplishments one of the most distinguished includes the honor of achieving the Eagle Scout distinction. He is a longtime member of the Gulfport Yacht Club and has always enjoyed being on the water boating and fishing.
Wayne is leaving behind his loving wife Jeannie. Jeannie and Wayne celebrated their marriage on July 2nd, 1994 in beautiful Hawaii. He has two children he loves very much, daughter Lauren E. Woodall and son, Andrew D. Woodall. His siblings include his two brothers Ronald Ellzey Woodall, Robert Dale Woodall and his sister, Wanda Woodall Radcliffe. He was adored by his nieces and nephews, Bobby, Rebecca, Jourdyn and Shannon. Wayne never wanted to leave anyone behind, so it should be known that Ruff-Ruff and Rascal, his two Beagles, are also very much a part of the family.
Appreciation is an attribute Wayne never went without. He continuously expressed his deep appreciation for everyone in his industry, including the court clerks, deputy clerks , D.A.’s office, Judges, law enforcement, probation officers and his own colleagues were all held in very high regard day in and day out.
The funeral for Wayne is to be held on Friday June 10th, 2016 at 12pm at the 15th St location of Bradford-O’Keefe in Gulfport, MS. There will be a visitation open to the public to come and share in the celebration of life from 10am until the service time at noon. Following the service Wayne will be laid to rest at the Long Beach Cemetery in Long Beach, MS.
