Ruth Fountain Hall Smith

Ruth Fountain Hall Smith, age 92, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on March 15, 2015. Ruth retired from the St. Martin School District. She loved to visit with family and friends and was a great cook. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Corrine Fountain; brothers, Peter and Eugene Fountain Jr.; sisters, Margie Terretta, Florence Meyer, and Lorena Seymour; her first husband, Mack Hall Sr.; second husband, Howard Smith; and her beloved daughter, Linda Hall Massey. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Tyrone) Gollott; her son, Mack Hall Jr.; grandchildren, Tyrone (Harriet) Gollott Jr., Sam (Carol) Gollott, Greg Gollott, Mack Hall III, Beth (Sam) Kelley, Kirk (Lori) Massey, and Rachel (Cory) Tate; and 13 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4900 Riley Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Yashashree Bethala, Southern Eye Clinic in Hattiesburg, MS, her caregivers at Sunplex, and Gentiva Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the mass. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
