Sandra Faye Roberts

Mrs. Sandra Faye Roberts, 57, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Friday, October 31, 2008, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Roberts was born in Brookhaven, MS and had been a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Van Acker. Survivors include her husband, Kerry Roberts; daughter, Marianne Slaughter of Detroit, MI; son, Duane Van Acker of Detroit, MI; step-daughter, Elizabeth Parrish of Pascagoula, Alexa Ryals of Theodore, AL, and Terika Rutland of Tupelo; parents, James and Virginia Byrne of Biloxi; sisters, Janice Jackson of Kentucky, and Stacey Byrne of Biloxi; brother, James "Jimmy" Byrne; and twelve grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
