Sandra DeJean Patterson passed away on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, surrounded by her family in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She was born April 30th, 1948 in Mobile, Alabama, and lived there until she married the love of her life, Lynn Patterson, in 1967 and moved to Biloxi, Mississippi. She graduated from Vigor High School in 1966 where she was Miss Vigor and went on to be Miss Chickasaw. Sandra was selected to be an Azalea Trail Maid in 1966, a coveted and prestigious ambassador of the Mobile area. She continued her education at the University of Southern Mississippi majoring in music and was a concert pianist beginning to study piano at five years of age. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority.

She was the owner of Patterson Plumbing and Heating Co., Inc., for over 55 years and a long-time member of the Associated General Contractors of Mississippi. Sandra was involved in her community her entire adult life. Early on, she was a Biloxi School Board member and served as past president. She worked tirelessly raising funds for the Biloxi Band Boosters and the Biloxi Football Booster clubs. She was instrumental in organizing bingo fundraising for Nativity BVM Cathedral and Nativity BVM Elementary School and for St. Michael's Church of Biloxi. Sandra was a long-time member of Nativity BVM Cathedral where she shared her talents as the church organist. She was also the church organist for St. Michael's Church of Biloxi and St. James Church of Gulfport. For many years, Sandra also played the organ for the Nativity BVM Elementary Choir. She taught piano for over 15 years out of her home to many Biloxi children. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, collecting and was an avid crocheter. She loved working on the weekends with Vieux Marche Estate Sales as their long-time cashier. Her favorite restaurant was Burger Burger in Biloxi where she was always surrounded by her cherished friends at her special table. 

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Lynn" Patterson" and her father, Charles Elwood DeJean. She is survived by her mother, Doris Gamble DeJean, and her sister Jon Cherie DeJean both of Chickasaw, AL, her daughter Dee Dee Patterson Munro of Ocean Springs, MS; her son Brian Michael Patterson (Jana) of Biloxi, MS; her daughter Lori Patterson Moresi (Lance) of Amite, LA; her grandchildren Ana Moresi Cyr (Ben), Benjamin Reed Moresi and Samuel Chas Moresi all of Lafayette, LA; Grace Munro Warnick (Ryan) of Jackson, MS and Lillian Falls Munro of Ocean Springs, MS; Brian Thomas Patterson and Ava Lynn Patterson of Biloxi, MS. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Biloxi beginning at 10:00 am, Rosary at 10:30 am and service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the Biloxi City Cemetery. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue Chapel is in charge of arrangements. 

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Nativity School Foundation, P. O. Box 453, Biloxi, MS, 39533, in honor and memory of Sandra Patterson.
