Scott Laurence Strauss

Scott Laurence Strauss, 62 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

He was born on June 26, 1963 in Fayetteville, NC to Donald Robert Leslie Strauss and Jo Anne S. Keeney. He was a graduate of Ocean Springs High School in 1981 where he was a member of the basketball team in his senior year. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Business Marketing in 1987. While there, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and big brother of the Phi Mu Sorority. He excelled in every sport he played, but he especially enjoyed playing intramural football for his Phi Tau Fraternity. He was an avid fan of SEC college football and a New Orleans Saints fan. He was a huge, huge fan of the University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, and his greatest enjoyment was watching them play.

Scott is survived by his mother, Jo Anne S. Keeney of Southern Pines, NC; stepmother, Carol Lipp Strauss; Children, Kelsey Strauss Gregory and Kayla Strauss; siblings, Dana Strauss and Laura Keeney.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Strauss of South Africa; and stepfather, James N. Keeney of Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm with visitation from 3:00 - 5:00pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS.

Following the service, the family invites everyone to gather for refreshments at the Lynchburg Landing to celebrate Scott’s launch into his new, wonderful, peaceful life above.
