Shannon Rose Creel

Shannon Rose Creel, 93, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. Shannon was born in Biloxi, MS on December 3, 1932, to Frank and Frances Brown. Shannon was a graduate of Biloxi High School. She married the love of her life, Elwood, on August 6, 1950.

Shannon worked as Administrative Secretary at Howard Memorial Hospital and then moved to the new Biloxi Regional Hospital, helping to oversee the transition from the old to the new facility. Shannon loved Mardi Gras and was a member of Le Petit Mardi Crew and Derby Strutters ladies marching group. She was also a member of the Biloxi Elks Lodge Lady’s Auxiliary.

Shannon is preceded in death by her husband, Elwood; parents, Frank and Frances Brown; brothers, Lloyd and Donald Brown; her mother-in-law, Katie Creel; son-in-law, Ed Daughtrey; and grandson, Bryan Daughtrey.

She is survived by his daughters, Debbie Daughtrey and Dianne Kajdan (Nelson); sons, Jimmy Creel and Donnie Creel (Shelley); grandchildren, Doug Ellzey (June), Brandon Jones (Frank), Ashley Jones (Dan), Amber Bourgeois (John), Andrea Thames (Jeremy), and Austin Creel (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Ian and Eli Ellzey, Aiden Daughtrey, MaryKate and Kadan Jones, Anna-Clare, John Joseph and Andrew Bourgeois, and Olivia and Jacob Thames.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Seelos Catholic Church in Biloxi on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit from one hour prior.
