Shannon Studders Swinford

Shannon Lynn Studders Swinford, 51, of Biloxi, MS, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Gulfport, MS. She was born on May 20, 1974, in Camp Pendleton, CA, and grew up in Rhode Island.

Shannon graduated from Villanova University with a degree in biology and earned her MBA while conducting medical research at MUSC. She then switched careers, joining Bank of America, where she rose to the rank of executive. Her career led her to Italy, where she successfully opened two branches on U.S. military bases.

Outside of her professional achievements, Shannon’s greatest joys came from spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed tennis, reading, and boating, as well as the simple moments shared with those she loved.

Shannon is survived by her beloved husband, Jimmy Swinford, Jr.; her beautiful daughter, Emma Sophia; her parents, Dr. James and Patricia Studders; her brothers, Sean M. Studders and Kevin J. Studders; her stepchildren, Salena Swinford and Jay Swinford; and her step-grandchildren, Levi and Everleigh. She will also be missed by her fur baby, Max.

Driven by integrity, quick-witted and a loyal confidante and advisor to all, Shannon embodied strength and perseverance. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend—utterly irreplaceable to all who were blessed to know her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity BVM Cathedral on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit beginning at 11:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at D'Iberville Memorial Park.
