Sheila Benson

Sheila Benson, 71, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Gulfport.

She was born on December 1, 1954, in Jackson, MS to Betty Singleton. Sheila attended Lanier High in Jackson and Hinds Community College. She was employed as a truck driver. Her hobbies were sewing, playing online games and gardening.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother; her son, Antonio Gilmore; and siblings, Steve Ball and Kimberly Parson.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Leonard Benson; Alice M. Bouie; sister-in-law, Mae Frances Wilbert, brother-in-law, Michael Benson and Rosaland Daggins; children, Daniel Gilmore (Temiska), Ashley Gray, Alex Gray (Rhonda); 7 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; her sister, Lisa Faye McLaurin; and brother, Ronnie Ball; and her dog, Khloe.
