Sheila Ann Wieck (Vuyovich), age 79, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Born on May 25, 1946, in Biloxi, Mississippi, Sheila brought joy and laughter into the world from the very beginning and continued to do so throughout her life.
Sheila was a woman of unforgettable spirit and boundless imagination. Though none of her tales were rooted in official job titles, she could spin a yarn so vivid you’d swear she had lived a dozen lives. Whether recounting her days as a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, describing her daring feats as the assistant inside the motorcycle globe of death, flaunting her moves as the San Diego Chicken, describing the grueling training she endured as an Olympic synchronized swimmer or reliving her glory as an amateur breakdancer and roller derby queen, Sheila’s stories were legendary. Her gift for storytelling wasn’t just entertainment it was how she connected with people and made them feel seen, heard, and loved.
Her warmth was magnetic. Sheila never met a stranger; every encounter was an opportunity for connection. She greeted everyone—whether lifelong friend or first-time acquaintance—with open arms and engaging conversation. Her laughter was infectious, her humor unmatched, and her ability to embarrass her children with love and flair became one of her most cherished talents.
Sheila’s greatest pride was her family. She shared a devoted marriage with her husband, Thomas Wieck Sr., and would have been celebrating 61 years of marriage on February 14th. Together they built a vibrant family legacy that spans generations. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Brenda Takeda (Larry), Ginger Magaoay, Robin Zabat (Vince), Rachel Nutt, Thomas Wieck Jr. (Amy), and Kari Bankester (William). Her role as mother extended into grandmotherhood with equal passion and joy.
She leaves behind a large and loving group of grandchildren: Brandon Tapp, Joshua Takeda, Amber Takeda, Brandy Williams (Johnie), Skyler Lewis (John), Jared Magaoay (Sarah), Mackenzie Magaoay, Jance Magaoay, Courtney Sherman (Drew), Danyela Reina (Anthony), Haylee Pedro, Riley Pedro, Lauryn Zabat, Mia Zabat, Glen Williamson, Mariah Williamson (Ayele Jenkins), Madison Nutt, Austin Wieck, Ryan Wieck, Tyeson Wieck, Brennan Odom, Brayden Odom, Bryscen Odom, Aria Bankester, Bayrun Bankester, Breck Bankester and Blayze Bankester.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Braysen, Devon, Havyn, Jaylah, Jozzieh, Zara, Johnie Jr., J’leonah, Layla, Ian, Eli, Kehlani, Amara, and Morani—each one touched by the same light-hearted love that Sheila gave so freely.
Sheila also shared deep bonds with her siblings: Leah Raye Slay, Eddie Vuyovich Jr. (Nelda), Claire Reed (Donnie), Dale Vuyovich (Susan), Van Vuyovich (Sue), Kelly Vuyovich (David), and Gene Vuyovich (Doug); and sister-in-law, Mary Vuyovich. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Angie Vuyovich; her brother, Otto Vuyovich; and by her brother-in-law, William Gray Slay.
