Sherry Robinson Vanskiver, 52, passed away September 29, 2012 at UMC after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Sherry was born October 11, 1959 to Vernon and Bobbie Robinson of Forest, MS. She graduated from Scott Central High School. She married Kent Vanskiver on December 31, 1987. Together they raised two daughters, Kimberly and Kathryn and one son, Ryan. Her children were her best accomplishment of her life. She was overjoyed at the upcoming birth of her first granddaughter Mary Blake. Sherry was the most kind and selfless person and she had a contagious laugh and smile that we will forever miss.
Sherry was preceded in death by her husband Kent Vanskiver.
She is survived by her devoted children Kimberly (fiancé Blake Bass), Kathryn, and Ryan Vanskiver of Hattiesburg, MS; her loving parents, Bobbie Robinson and Vernon (Jean) Robinson; brother, Gary Robinson; sister, Vivian Robinson of Forest, MS; sister Cathy Ables of Belzoni, MS; sister, Jeannie Savoie of Louisiana. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces, Valarie, Vickie, Angie, Christie and Ronda; and nephews, Randy and Chase. She had two beautiful great nieces, Alexis and Alessia Rae and five handsome great-nephews Corbin, Parker, Hutson, Reid and Hayz; and many special cousins and friends. The family would like to thank two extraordinary people, Tammy & Greg Conley of Jackson, MS for their selfless service, love and strength during this time.
A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The family would prefer memorials to go to the Sherry Vanskiver Memorial Fund at Bancorp South.
