Sherry Lynn "Mimi" Young

Sherry Lynn “Mimi” Young, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Sherry was born in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of the coast. She was a retired deli manager of Winn Dixie in Long Beach. She was a member of Divine Grace Baptist Church in Long Beach.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Donald and Annie Saulters Young and her sister, Charlotte “Dean” McCarty

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Cook (Scott); niece/daughter, Tonya Young; son, Donald Young (Krystal); sisters, Shirley Hiott and Shelia Fain; life long friends, Kevin LoPresto and Tim and Missy Kinchen; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter;  and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Young family.
