Shirley June Blalock

Shirley June Blalock, 90 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at the Lighthouse Assisted Living and Memory Care.

She was born on June 26, 1936 in Ocean Springs, MS to Clarence and Vennie Bosarge. She graduated from Vancleave High School in 1954. She was inducted into the 2021 Vancleave Athletic Hall of Fame. She was employed as an office clerk at the Gautier Post Office. She enjoyed playing basketball, reading, gardening, and fishing with her family and friends.

Shirley in preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Vennie Bosarge; son, John Blalock; and siblings, Zelma Bond and Gerald Bosarge.

She is survived by her children, Jeff (Susan) Blalock, Devon (Trudy) Blalock, and Susie Barefield; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Margorie Williams, Veronica Seymour, and Douglas (Charlotte) Bosarge.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancer, or your favorite charity.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lighthouse Assisted Living and Hospice of Light, Memory Care and At Home for their wonderful care.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Vancleave #2 Cemetery.
