Shirley "Charlene" Akins Pierce

Shirley “Charlene” Akins Pierce, 82, of Gulfport, MS passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Gulfport. Mrs. Pierce was born in Ethel, MS and was a resident of the coast for over 25 years. She was a former resident of Hollandale, MS and was employed with the Bank of Hollandale. Mrs. Pierce attended Lemoyne Baptist Church in St. Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny E. Pierce, Sr.; her son, Johnny E. Pierce, Jr.; her parents, Ruby and Henry Akins; and her brother, Henry Haywood Akins, Jr. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her son, Randy and his wife Shelby Pierce. Private services will be held. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
