Shirley Irene Kelly

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, Shirley Irene Kelly, at the age of 79, went to her heavenly home. She was reunited with her parents, Thomas and Erma Lee Saucier, two brothers, Robert and Carl Saucier, two sisters, Charlotte Reeves and Barbara Cuevas, her nephew, Joseph Saucier, three great-grandchildren, Nicole Blackwell, Haygen Martin, and Jonathan “JJ” Coleman. 

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a hard-working, strong-willed, and dedicated woman who devoted her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She was the matriarch of the family! Shirley loved cooking, gardening, fishing, and camping. She was a talented crafter who loved making gifts for her family. She passed her love for these activities to her loved ones, often convincing them to join in.

Shirley's legacy will be carried on by her children, Anthony Carter (Pam), Nancy Carter, and Cindy Carter. 

Shirley leaves a legacy of twelve grandchildren: Brandie Spiers, Jessica Lee (Nick), Tiffany Necaise, Jonathon Coleman (Amber), Charles “Chad” Martin (Krystal), Chris Yarbrough (Ashton), Shrell McQueen (Shane), Amanda Carter (Jason),  Angela Carter, Rachell Carter, Roy “Bubba” Jones Jr. (Julia), Thomas “TJ” McWethy (Carolynne), with thirty-three great-grandchildren, Christian, Abbigale, Katilyn, Liam, Isaac, Jayden, Sawyer, Alexis, Nathan, Wesson, Colton, Brycetyn, Hayven, Brently, Jessie, Remington, Lil Chris, Nikki, Maddie, Ayron, Emily, Jayce, Hailey, Brandon, Devin, Ayden, Gaven, Brayden, Jennifer, Joseph, Chevy, Amariah, and two great-great-grandchildren: Aysley and Jackson. 

Shirley also leaves behind her siblings, Mike Saucier, Dennis Ray Saucier (Kay), and Judy Saucier, along with many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members who will forever cherish the memories they shared. 

Family and friends are invited to the visitation and services on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Divine Grace Baptist Church, 5570 Red Creek Road, Long Beach, MS, followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
