Stephanie Mallette Posey

Stephanie M. Posey, affectionately known as Mimi, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at the age of 58.

Mimi was a woman who loved with her whole heart. She had a way of making the people around her feel loved, welcomed, and cared for, and her greatest joy in life was her family.

Her grandchildren were her world. She loved each of them beyond measure and treasured every moment she was able to spend with them. She loved watching them grow, making memories with them, and simply being their Mimi. Her love for her grandchildren was unconditional and will continue to live on through each of them.

Mimi loved her children deeply and was so very proud of them. She also loved Bruce so very much, and the love they shared was a special part of her life. Her family meant everything to her, and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she loved.

She enjoyed the simple things in life—going to the thrift store, drinking a good cup of coffee, laughing and talking with family and friends, and spending time with the people who meant the most to her. It wasn’t about where she was or what she was doing; it was about who she was with. Those ordinary moments became some of the most precious memories her family will carry forever.

Mimi leaves behind a legacy of love that cannot be measured. She will be missed in countless ways—in the quiet moments, around the family table, during coffee conversations, and in all the little things that will remind her loved ones of her.

To know Mimi was to know love. To be loved by Mimi was a gift.

Her family finds comfort knowing that the love she gave so freely will continue through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Though she may no longer be here to hold their hands, her love will remain in their hearts forever.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Mimi.

Mimi is preceded in death by her parents, George Earl Mallette and Geraldine Mallette; and by her daughter, Dawn Denae Thrash.

Those left to cherish her memory include her life partner, Bruce Lane Posey; children, Amber (Jason) Hamilton and Cade (Samantha) Posey; grandchildren, Tripp Lane Hamilton, Tinley Nicole Hamilton and Elli-Mae Kate Posey; siblings, Melanie Mallette Sanderson and Chris Mallette; and her fur-baby, Jax.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Vancleave at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit one hour prior.
