Sylvia Bonnett Batton

Sylvia Bonnett Batton, age 88, passed away to her great reward Friday, October 20, 2017. Sylvia was born in Biloxi, a longtime resident of D'Iberville and a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a loving wife and mother who was devoted to her family. She sang in the choir and played the piano at Epworth and Racetrack United Methodist Churches. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Kanzetty Bonnett; her sister, Althea Bonnett; and her brother, Lloyd Lee Bonnett. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Burras Alex Batton Jr.; her daughter, Rebecca Craig; her sons, Burras A. "Buck" Batton III and Thomas Batton; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a 2:00 p.m. chapel service, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
