Thelma Louise Gartman, age 87, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Singing River Gulfport Hospital. She was a housewife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Gartman was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. Her happiest times were when surrounded by her family, often saying, “I love my babies”. The Gartmans would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary May 13, 2022. She enjoyed researching the family’s ancestry and discussing her findings. She also loved sharing her many photos and many photo albums.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva S. and Jessie M. Pritchard; her spouse Teddie G. Gartman, Sr.; and brothers L.J. Pritchard and Kenneth R. “Butch” Pritchard.
Mrs. Gartman is survived by her children, Deborah “Debbie” Bermond (Rene III), Jeania Gartman, Teddie G. Gartman, Jr. and Justin B. Gartman (Roger); grandchildren Jason Taylor (Amanda), Kim Rouse (Cory), Ryan Garriga, Teddie Gartman, III (Katie), J.D. Gartman (Angela) and Austin Gartman; 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; siblings Barbara White and Alva S. Pritchard, Jr.
The children would like to express their sincere gratitude to the medical staff, including doctors, nurses, technicians and medical assistants of Singing River Gulfport, 3rd floor; Kare-in-Home (Kassi Price and Chris Symmes); Linda Hubbard, SMPDD; and caretakers Abi Hendry, Shawne Smith and Dorothy Ladner for their excellent care and compassion offered to our mom.
