Theresa Jane Shimp

Theresa Jane Shimp age 73 of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on March 30, 2022.

She was born on August 14, 1948 to James M. Brophy and Margaret Higgins. She was a native of Hattiesburg, MS but was a resident of the Gulf Coast. She retired as a librarian for the Vancleave library. She was a graduate of U.S.A. and was of the Catholic faith.

Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Shimp, Sr.; and her daughter, Mary Margaret Shimp.

She is survived by her daughters, Leslie (Jerry) Pitts and Carol Noble; sons, George H. (Johnette) Shimp, Jr., William David (Brandy) Shimp, and James Michael Shimp; brothers, James Michael (Trudy) Brophy and Richard Brophy; fifteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
