Thomas Grover Rushing

Thomas Grover Rushing, 54, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2022 from cancer.

Tom was born on November 2, 1967 in Greenville, MS. At age sixteen, Tom began working for his father, Dutch Rushing, at Rushing Communications Service, Inc. in Greenville, MS. Tom graduated from Washington School in Greenville, MS. In 1991, Tom graduated from Wilmer Technical College in Wilmer, MN, then moved back to Greenville to continue working for Dutch. In August of 1996, Tom moved to Grand Junction, CO where he eventually started his own business doing maintenance work on two-way radios for Sleeping Indian and the water company in Montrose, Co where he eventually moved. In 2019, Tom moved to Ocean Springs, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.W. “Dutch” and Amelia Rushing; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. (Ann) G.C. Horton and Mr. and Mrs. (Gladys) O.W. “Tom” Rushing.

Tom is survived by one son, Thomas Cross Rushing; brothers, Sam (Di) and Jim (Billie Marie) Rushing; and one sister, Anna “Jo” Miller (Charlie, deceased); and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to equally thank Seth Jones and his team from Your Choice Senior Care of Biloxi, MS and Hospice of Light, Nurse Donna York and her team for their outstanding, above and beyond care of Tom.
