Thomas Paul Tatlow

December 27, 1943 — February 23, 2022

Thomas Paul “Tom” Tatlow, 78, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away peacefully on February 23, 2022, after battling a progressive neurological illness for over a year. Tom was a native of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and lived in many locations throughout his life including Biloxi and Columbus, MS while serving in the US Air Force.  He moved to Ocean Springs in 2019 to be close to family.

Tom graduated from St Rose High School in Belmar, NJ in 1962 and enlisted in the US Air Force that same year.  He served on active duty for 22 years, primarily in the field of avionics maintenance, and he retired in 1984 at the rank of Master Sergeant. While on active-duty Tom obtained an Associate Degree in Business from Los Angeles Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University.  After retiring from the military, Tom worked for the Sperry/Paramax/Unisys Corporation in Reston, VA in their product assurance/quality control division for 12 years.  In 1996 he was hired by the Lockheed Martin Corporation in Manassas, VA where he worked as a facilities and operations manager until he retired in 2003.

Tom was gregarious soul who honestly never met a stranger.  He was always generous with his time, talents, and resources.  He enjoyed spending time with good friends, especially if it involved a body of water and a boat!  He also enjoyed traveling, particularly to tropical locations.  He was happy anywhere he could put a beach chair next to the ocean. Tom also loved spending time with family, particularly his daughter and granddaughters.  He never missed an opportunity to tell others how proud he was of his “girls” and how beautiful and talented they are.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents, Thomas G and Margaret K Tatlow; brother, Michael J Tatlow; and sister, Susan M Tatlow.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Theresa Patino (Gilberto) and granddaughters, Emilia Patino, Ana Patino, and Laura Patino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
