Tony O'Neal Parnell

Tony O’Neal Parnell, 65, of Vancleave, Mississippi, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2026.

Tony was a man of quiet strength—never one to wear his emotions on his sleeve, yet deeply devoted to his family and his community. He was a man whose love showed up in consistency, hard work, and faithfulness.

He shared 43 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Martha, building a life rooted in commitment and love. He was a proud father to Daphne (Mike) Willis, Katie (Brent) Dees, and Michael Parnell. One of his greatest joys was being “Pawpaw” to his six grandchildren: Austin, Laney Grace, Caden, Johnnie, Duke, and Rylee. He loved each of them fiercely and even had special nicknames for every one—a small way he made them feel known and treasured.

Tony also opened his home and heart to his nephew, Dyke, who came to live with them at the age of 15. Dyke was like a son to Tony and Martha and shared a strong, special bond with him that will always be cherished. Later in life, Tony also shared a close bond with his nephew Brandon and was deeply proud of the obstacles Brandon had overcome.

Tony spent his life owning and operating a marine construction company, leaving behind a legacy quite literally built into the bridges people drive across today. He took great pride in his work and found joy in operating heavy equipment. When he wasn’t on the job, his heart was at the farm, raising Angus cattle—a passion that brought him peace and purpose.

Above all, Tony was a man of his word. If he said he would do something, it would be done. His integrity, work ethic, and steady presence shaped his family and left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Martha Parnell; his children, Daphne (Mike) Willis, Katie (Brent) Dees, and Michael Parnell; his grandchildren, Austin, Laney Grace, Caden, Johnnie, Duke, and Rylee; his sister, Teresa Davis; and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Services will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, at Magnolia Baptist Church in Vancleave. Visitation will be from 9:00–11:00 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Chase Elkins. Graveside services will follow at the cemetery off Jim Ramsey Road.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing he is now whole and in the presence of his Savior. His legacy will live on through his family, his work, and the many lives he touched.
