Vasco Martin Fast, Sr., 91, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016.
Mr. Fast, a World War II Veteran, served as a medic in the Army in England, France, Germany and Austria. He also served as past Master Mason of Germantown TN Masonic Lodge #95 F.&A.M.
Mr. Fast owned “Fast Lawn Service” for 18 years in Memphis, TN. He was also employed by Sears in Pascagoula and Memphis. Mr. Fast built a mobile home park on Ft. Bayou which he and his family have ran for the past 54 years.
Mr. Fast was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ocean Springs. He volunteered at The Lord is My Help Food Pantry. Mr. Fast enjoyed camping in many states all over the U.S., fishing, boating, playing cards, Dominos, shooting pool and reading.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Marth Bess Leake Fast; 6 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Mr. Fast’s survivors include his brother, Wayne Fast of Minot, ND; his sons, Vasco Martin (Edwina) Fast, Jr. and Jerry Ronald Fast; his daughter, Patricia Katherine (Gene) Seymour; his grandchildren, Cherie’ Seymour (Charles) Lennard, Luke (Jennifer) Seymour and Matthew (Felicia) Seymour; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 wonderful sister-in-law; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lemoyne Place for the good care and home setting, Bradford-O’Keefe and the V.A.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the American Heart Association, Greater Southeast Affiliate, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
Private services will be held.
