Viola Noble Mills, DeLancey, Bowman, passed from this earth on June 24, 2012, at her residence in Ocean Springs, MS.
She was born on September 24, 1917, to Ruth and Henry Noble in Gulfport, MS. She was of the Baptist faith and was one of the founding charter members of Oak Grove Baptist Church on Quave Road in Vancleave.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, L.D. "Jack" Mills (the father of her 3 children), Lloyd DeLancey and Doug Bowman, her parents, brother Hollis Noble, niece Donnie Thompson, nephew Gary "Butch" Noble and grandson Eric Mills.
Survivors include her children, Betty (Arthur) Lott of Mobile, AL, David (Pearl) Mills of Vancleave and Jerry (Faye) Mills of Vancleave. She also leaves to cherish her memories, eight grandchildren, Mike and Gary Harbin of Mobile, Al, Greg Mills of Vancleave, Ellen Mills Freeman of Gautier, MS, Lori Mills Pausina of Mandeville, LA, Ronnie Mills, Mandi Mills Noel, both of Vancleave and Vye Toomer of Escatawpa, MS and 11 great-grandchildren, six step-children, a very devoted and loving niece, Sherry Fleming and her husband James and many other nieces and nephews.
On Thursday, June 28, 2012, there will be an 11 am graveside service in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Vancleave. Keith Noble will be officiating the service.
Pallbearers will be Mike Harbin, Gary Harbin, Greg Mills, Ronnie Mills, Mark Toomer and James Fleming.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church or to the Cancer Society.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
