Virginia Kent "Jenny" Stallings

January 11, 1927 — May 5, 2025

Biloxi

Virginia Kent “Jenny” Stallings, age 98, was guided home by her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Jenny was born on January 11, 1927, in McAllen, TX. She lived with her parents in Houston, TX where she worked as an insurance clerk at Occidental Life Insurance Company. Jenny met the love of her life, Jim Stallings, one rainy day walking to work when he kindly offered her a ride. The Story of their meeting has been fondly told to their children and grandchildren throughout the 70 years of marriage they shared before Jim’s passing in 2018. They moved to Jackson, MS where they continued growing their family. Jenny enjoyed golfing at Colonial Heights Golf Club and performed in a Cancan dancing group. She made a permanent home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and worked alongside her husband as a bookkeeper of The Overhead Door Company of Gulfport until retirement. Jenny loved cooking, gardening, and needlework. She had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone who visited her was greeted with a smile, a laugh, and a shared memory to hold close to their hearts forever. Jenny’s faith and devotion remained strong through this long journey and God’s invitation to rest in his loving arms and tender care has now been fulfilled.

Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, Lora Harmon Kent; her father, George Franklin Kent; her husband, James Robert Stallings; and siblings.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Peacock (Todd); three sons, Tommy Stallings (Mary), Bobby Stallings, and Neil Stallings (Kitty); eight grandchildren, Eddie Evans, Tommy Stallings (Rene), Hunter Stallings (Autumn), Eric Stallings, Dale Stallings (Lindsey), Mia Wallace (Ryan), Graham Peacock (Haley), and Cody Peacock; twelve great-grandchildren; and her cats, Bella and Binx.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Janet Adams, Lucy Barnes, Catherine Kirksey, Shakeena Johnson, Karen Rogers, Shae Washington, and Shawanna Bankston of Greater Love Home Care. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gwin, Dr. Gremillion, Dr. Mullen, and Dr. Seigerman for their care during the years of Jenny’s illness and the compassion given during her passing at Memorial Hospital by ICU RN Amanda and NP Maria.
