Gulfport

Vivian Joyce Scarborough Drawdy of Biloxi, MS passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, January 16, 2026 in Gulfport, MS.

Born October 14, 1938 in Biloxi, Vivian lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others. Her trust in God guided her through every season of life, and she was a living example of grace, humility, and unwavering devotion. She found strength in prayer and comfort in knowing she was never alone, for the Lord walked beside her always.

A devoted wife/mother/grandmother/great-grandmother, Vivian considered her family one of her greatest blessings. She loved deeply and sacrificially, offering encouragement, wisdom, and a listening ear whenever it was needed. A talented seamstress, Vivian would creatively put together quilts and pieces for Mardi-Gras balls, square-dancing and many family members including her granddaughters who have passed down many of those pieces to their own daughters. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, where faith was not only spoken but lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Zeolide Scarborough; her brother, Lester Scarborough; her sister, Lucille Kinney and her daughters, Sheryl and Carolyn Drawdy.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Drawdy, Sr.; sons, LC (Tally) and Keith (Shelene); her brother, Oscar; granddaughters, Emily (Korey), Nisa (David), Olivia (William), MaryRose (Dustin), and Cheyenne (Kaden); six great grandchildren, Elias, Lettie, Lucia, Anne-Walden, Palmer, and Murphy; and close family friend, Shelly Drawdy as well as many cherished family members and friends who will carry her love and faith forward.

Vivian will be remembered for her spunky spirit, her kind heart, and her steadfast faith. Though we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life, knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and welcomed into Heaven with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

The family would like to express their deepest and most heartfelt appreciation for the loving care given by Gentiva Hospice staff and Seashore Highland staff and community. You have all been kind and shown such care and compassion since the beginning and we could not have asked for better care and support.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS. Friends may visit from 9:30am until service time. Burial will follow at White Plains Methodist Church Cemetery.
