Vuong Quoc “Chewy” Hoang

Mar 7, 1981 — Sep 12, 2026

Vuong Quoc “Chewy” Hoang, 45, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, memories, and countless people whose lives were touched by his kind and generous heart.

Vuong was born on March 7, 1981, in Denver, Colorado, to On Hoang and the late Nghia Hoang. He grew up in Long Beach and Pass Christian, Mississippi, where he built lifelong friendships and memories that remained a special part of who he was.

Vuong was a man with a heart bigger than words could describe. He was kind, generous, loving, and unforgettable. He had a way of leaving an everlasting impression on everyone he met. If you knew Chewy, you knew he was never afraid to give you a hard time. His teasing, joking, and sometimes stubborn ways were his own special way of showing love. Beneath that tough exterior was an incredibly tender heart.

Vuong was also a wonderful chef who expressed his love through food. He loved cooking for the people he cared about and had a gift for making sure no one ever left his home hungry. He spoiled family and friends with his cooking, and many will remember not only the delicious meals he prepared, but the love that went into every plate.

For 18 years, Vuong shared his life with his beloved partner, Kim. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, challenges, memories, and the companionship of the dogs they adored. Vuong loved Kim and their dogs deeply, and his family was at the center of his heart.

Vuong was a beloved son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, partner, friend, and so much more to so many people. He leaves behind his mother, On Hoang; his siblings, Phuong Hoang, Yen Hoang, Cuong Hoang, Hung Hoang, Vu Hoang, Tuyet Hoang, Bao Hoang, and Toan Hoang; and his many beloved nieces and nephews, including his great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Nghia Hoang, who passed away in 2019.

Though Vuong’s life was far too short, the love he gave was anything but small. His laughter, his teasing, his generosity, his cooking, and his enormous heart will live on in the memories of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Rest peacefully, Vuong. Your love and your memory will live on in all of us.
