William “Bill” David Boynton, 76, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023. Bill was born November 4, 1946 in Streator, IL to Donald Boynton and Alcidean Boynton.
Bill graduated from Streator High School before attending Southwest Baptist College. Bill was a member of the United States Navy. Before retiring he became a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was most proud of that he was on the first Honor Flight for World War II Veterans. Later, Bill worked as a Logistics Analyst for Ingalls Shipbuilding prior to retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed donating his time to working with the Volunteers of America, Jackson County Baptist Association, and the Mississippi Disaster Team.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Alcidean Boynton; and his sister, Donna Tudor.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn K. Boynton; children, Shawna (Chris) Littrell, Malinda Ingram, Joseph (Trina) Ingram, and Margie (Allen) James; grandchildren, Tyler Rye, Jacob Rye, Eva Ingram, Sophia Ingram, Thomas Ingram, and Jacob James; brother, Robert (Pam) Boynton; and beloved dog, Ginger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs. They would also like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Catherine House in Ocean Springs.
