William “Bill” N. Pittman, age 95, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016.
Mr. Pittman was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for many years. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having joined in 1941. He served with CBI Theater 10th AF 80th Fighter group during World War II and during the Korean War and various other assignments with the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard for a total of 26 years. After his retirement, he worked over 25 years in the auto parts industry managing several businesses in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Lela Pittman; brother, LL Pittman; and sister, Burley Weise Graves.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janis Pittman; daughters, Cindy (Nelson) Hensley of Huntsville, AL and Sandy (Joe) Harris of Gulfport, sons; Richard Pittman of Louisville, KY, Randy Pittman of Tampa, FL, David (Cindy) Belew of Biloxi and Tony (Lauri) Belew of Gulfport; and 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Pittman was an avid Saints football fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and he loved life. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the O’Neal Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
