William (Bill) Leroy Prince, age 86, was born December 20, 1939, in Shuqualak, MS. While he was always a proud native of Shuqualak, he was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs, MS. He passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord Jesus on Monday February 23, 2026, at Lighthouse Assisted Living & Memory Care.
Mr. Prince served his country in the United States Air Force, graduated from Mississippi State University as an electrical engineer, retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding/Northrup Grumman, and was a founding member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Ocean Springs. He was a devoted and faithful husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed. He was a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Prince was preceded in death by his much-loved wife of 35 years, Marilyn Elizabeth Davis Prince, parents, Leroy Percy Prince and Mary Kathryn Dotherow Prince of Shuqualak. He is survived by his two children, daughter, Nora Kathryn Prince Hennig (Curtis) of Jacksonville, FL and son, James Davis Prince (Brandy) of Ocean Springs, six grandchildren, Jacob Davis Prince, Olivia Kathryn Prince, Zoe Elizabeth Prince, Charlotte Renee Prince, all of Ocean Springs, and Allison Hennig Frutchey (Devin), and Kyle Michael Hennig, along with three great- grandchildren, all of Jacksonville. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Lee Prince Skipper (Ted) of Shuqualak and Kathryn Prince Chancellor (William) of Nashville TN, along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Ocean Springs United Methodist Church, 8900 Old Spanish Trail, Ocean Springs, on Monday March 2, 2026, at 11:00AM. Friends and family may visit one hour prior from 10:00AM – 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
