Mr. William Kessler Clendenon, 78, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family, in Gulfport, MS. 

Mr. Kessler was born on August 31, 1945, in Meridian, MS to the late Willie Arsie Clendenon and Madie Van Dorn Wilkins Clendenon. He attended Mason Chamberlain Academy where he acquired his GED before going into the Air Force where he served from 1962-1969. After leaving the Air Force, he filled many occupations. He was a car salesman, a heavy machine operator, and an occupational safety and health expert.

Mr. Clendenon loved to play golf and go fishing. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he would watch westerns, or if you couldn’t find him in the house, look outside- he’s cutting the grass.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Willie Arsie Clendenon and Madie Van Dorn Wilkins Clendenon; his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Lynn Holmes Clendenon; one brother, Arsie Clendenon; and one sister, Linda Kadue.

Mr. Clendenon is survived by his sons, Joseph Kessler Clendenon, Sr. (Christine) of Coffeeville, MS, Jacob William Clendenon (Kasey) of Stillwater, MN, and Jamison Lee Clendenon (Tonya) of Gulfport, MS. He is also survived by a brother, James Clendenon of Jackson, MS; two nephews, David Clendenon of Grenada, MS and Bill Clendenon of Grenada, MS; one niece, Joyce Dueffert (Grant) of St. Paul, MN. He is also survived by one great niece, Courtney Clendenon of Pearl, MS and two great nephews, Hayden Clendenon of Grenada, MS and Jack Clendenon of Grenada, MS; six grandchildren: Joseph Jr., Jace, Chandler, Kessler, Jonathan, and Waylon, one great grandchild, and a host of extended family.

The family will hold a celebration of life for Mr. William Kessler Clendenon on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Long Beach Activity and Senior Center located on Daugherty Road from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
